लॅब ऑन व्हील्स: रुरल एज्युकेशन ॲडव्हान्समेंट ट्रस्ट (REAT) कडून ९,३०० हून अधिक विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी नाविन्यपूर्ण उपक्रम

– डेक्कन एज्युकेशन सोसायटीच्या आवारातील कुंदनमल फिरोदिया सभागृह गेल्या रविवारी, ३ मे रोजी प्रेरणेचे केंद्र बनले होते. निमित्त होते रुरल एज्युकेशन ॲडव्हान्समेंट ट्रस्ट (REAT) तर्फे आयोजित त्यांच्या पहिल्या अधिवेशनाचे. महाराष्ट्राच्या दुर्गम कोपऱ्यात प्रात्यक्षिक विज्ञान पोहोचवण्याच्या अभूतपूर्व प्रवासाचा उत्सव या कार्यक्रमात साजरा करण्यात आला.

परंपरा आणि तंत्रज्ञानाचा संगम साधत अधिवेशनाची सुरुवात नवकल्पनांच्या एका चित्ताकर्षक प्रदर्शनाने झाली. पारंपारिक दीपप्रज्वलनाची संकल्पना एका अनोख्या मोबाईल ॲप्लिकेशनद्वारे पुन्हा नव्याने मांडण्यात आली. हे ‘डिजिटल दीप प्रज्वलन’ तंत्रज्ञानाच्या माध्यमातून शिक्षणाचे आधुनिकीकरण करण्याच्या ट्रस्टच्या वचनबद्धतेचे एक शक्तिशाली प्रतीक ठरले.

REAT चे सर्व विश्वस्त सांगलीच्या प्रतिष्ठित वालचंद कॉलेज ऑफ इंजिनीअरिंगच्या, १९९४ बॅचचे पदवीधर आहेत. त्यातून त्यांनी आजीवन मैत्रीचे आणि सामायिक ध्येयाचे एक उदाहरण समोर मांडले आहे

वैज्ञानिक पिढीच्या सक्षमीकरणाचा
REAT चा मुख्य केंद्रबिंदू अर्थात “लॅब ऑन व्हील्स” प्रकल्प, जो ग्रामीण भागातील मुलांसाठी वैज्ञानिक साक्षरतेचा जीवनवाहिनी बनला आहे. हा प्रकल्प सध्या पुणे, कोल्हापूर, सातारा आणि सिंधुदुर्ग या चार प्रमुख जिल्ह्यांमधील ७९ शाळांमधील ९,३०० पेक्षा जास्त ग्रामीण विद्यार्थ्यांच्या जीवनात सकारात्मक बदल घडवत आहे. दुर्गम शाळांच्या दारापर्यंत उच्चदर्जाची प्रयोगशाळा उपकरणे आणि तज्ञांचे मार्गदर्शन पोहोचवून, REAT हे सुनिश्चित करत आहे की भौगोलिक परिस्थिती आता विद्यार्थ्यांच्या नाविन्यपूर्ण क्षमतेत अडथळा ठरणार नाही.

या कार्यक्रमात दिग्गज मान्यवरांनी उपस्थितांना संबोधित केले:

मुख्य अतिथी, योगिता आपटे (CSR प्रमुख, पर्सिस्टंट सिस्टम्स लिमिटेड) यांनी REAT च्या कार्याची सुरळीत अंमलबजावणी आणि पूर्ण पारदर्शकतेचे कौतुक केले. ट्रस्टचा लक्ष्य केंद्रित दृष्टिकोन हजारो विद्यार्थ्यांच्या विज्ञान शिकण्याच्या अनुभवात मूलभूत बदल घडवून आणत असल्याचे त्यांनी नमूद केले.

प्रमुख वक्ते, डॉ. मिलिंद कुलकर्णी (वरिष्ठ शास्त्रज्ञ आणि केंद्र प्रमुख, C-MET, भारत सरकार): भारताचे ‘स्वॅबमन’ म्हणून ओळखल्या जाणाऱ्या डॉ. कुलकर्णी यांनी ट्रस्टच्या “तळागाळापासूनच्या” (roots-up) दृष्टिकोनाचे कौतुक केले. दुर्गम गावांमधील विज्ञान शिक्षण उंचावणे हे राष्ट्र उभारणीचे एक महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्य असल्याचे त्यांनी आवर्जून सांगितले.

कॉर्पोरेट समन्वय आणि पुढील वाटचाल
अधिवेशनात मुख्य CSR भागीदारांचा सन्मान करण्यात आला, ज्यांच्या पाठिंब्यामुळे “लॅब ऑन व्हील्स” हा प्रकल्प यशस्वीपणे सुरू आहे. यामध्ये योगिता आपटे (लीड – CSR, पर्सिस्टंट सिस्टम्स), डॉ. अमित राऊळ (चीफ ट्रान्सफॉर्मेशन आणि ऑपरेटिंग लीडर, लिसनलाईट्स प्रा. लि.) आणि श्री. योगेश खळदकर (ऑपरेशन्स डायरेक्टर, एच. बी. फुलर इंडिया ॲडहेसिव्ह्स प्रा. लि.) यांचा समावेश होता.

REAT चे अध्यक्ष श्री. विवेक ताटके यांनी आगामी वर्षाचा महत्त्वाकांक्षी आराखडा सादर केला, सचिव सचिन पाटील आणि खजिनदार राजेश मनगोलीकर यांनी संस्थेच्या प्रगतीचा सविस्तर अहवाल सादर केला.

या अधिवेशनाला चारही जिल्ह्यांत कार्यरत असलेले REAT शिक्षक, स्वयंसेवी संस्थांचे समन्वयक आणि वालचंद कॉलेज ऑफ इंजिनीअरिंगच्या १९९४ च्या बॅचचे माजी विद्यार्थी त्यांच्या कुटुंबासह मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते. जेव्हा इंजिनीअरिंग क्षेत्रातील दिग्गज सामाजिक कार्यासाठी एकत्र येतात, तेव्हा त्याचा परिणाम अफाट असतो, हेच या कार्यक्रमातून सिद्ध झाले. अखेर आभार प्रदर्शनाने या यशस्वी सोहळ्याची सांगता झाली. या सुयोजित कार्यक्रमाच्या यशस्वी अंमलबजावणीसाठी रीट, पुणे चे सर्व विश्वस्त आणि स्वयंसेवक यांच सहकार्य लाभले.

Lab on Wheels: Rural Education Advancement Trust (REAT) Ignites Innovation for 9,300+ Students
Pune, May 4, 2026 – The Kundanmal Firodia Auditorium at the Deccan Education Society’s campus transformed into a hub of inspiration this past Sunday, May 3, as the Rural Education Advancement Trust (REAT) hosted its inaugural convention. The event celebrated a year of phenomenal impact in bringing practical science to the farthest corners of Maharashtra.
A Fusion of Tradition and Technology
The convention opened with a breathtaking display of innovation that perfectly mirrored the Trust’s mission. The traditional lamp lighting was reimagined through a unique mobile application developed by one of the trustees of REAT. This digital ignition served as a powerful symbol of the Trust’s commitment to modernizing education through technology.
In a testament to lifelong friendship and shared vision, all trustees of REAT are 1994 engineering graduates from the prestigious Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli.
Empowering the Next Generation of Scientists
The heart of the convention focused on REAT’s “Lab on Wheels” project, which has become a lifeline for science literacy. The Trust is currently making a tangible difference in the lives of over 9,300 rural students across 79 schools in four key districts: Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, and Sindhudurg. By delivering high-quality lab equipment and expert guidance to remote school steps, REAT is ensuring that geography no longer dictates a student’s ability to innovate.

The event featured powerful addresses from leaders who have dedicated their lives to excellence:
• Chief Guest, Ms. Yogita Apte The CSR Lead at Persistent Systems Ltd, a veteran in the corporate-social sector, praised the seamless execution and absolute transparency of REAT’s operations. She highlighted how the Trust’s focused approach is fundamentally changing the science learning experience for thousands of students.

• The Key Note Speaker, Dr. Milind Kulkarni, known as the ‘Swabman’ of India, the senior scientist and Centre Head at C-MET, Govt. of India, is famed for developing the indigenous COVID-19 testing swab in April 2020. Dr. Kulkarni lauded the Trust for its “roots-up” approach, emphasizing that uplifting science education in remote villages is a critical act of nation-building.
Corporate Synergy and the Road Ahead
The convention honored key CSR partners whose support fuels the “Lab on Wheels”. Ms. Yogita Apte The CSR Lead at Persistent Systems Ltd, Dr. Amit Raual, Chief Transformation and Operating Leader at ListenLights Pvt. Ltd., and Shri Yogesh Khaladkar, Operations Director at H B Fuller India Adhesives Pvt Ltd, were recognized for their invaluable contributions.
Shri Vivek Tatke, Chairman of REAT, unveiled an ambitious roadmap for the coming year, pledging to expand the fleet and reach even more underserved districts. Progress reports were presented with meticulous detail by Secretary Sachin Patil and Treasurer Rajesh Mangolikar.
